Middle Age Top Ten Resolutions
My Take from Others in This Age Group, Myself Included, About Goals, Ten of Them for New Year's
The second goal or resolution for a middle aged person is somply to get a better and healthier lifestyle and eating habit in place. Now that middle agers are facing symptoms, they were not used to, feeling tired more often, getting less productive sleep, or gaining a few pounds, that never before posed a problem, they are trying to set this goal for themselves.
Many middle aged persons or trying to quit a bad habit, that maybe they have had for many years. Maybe they are strting to get concerned about possible side effects. For women smoking can be a worriesome thing. They start noticing wrinkles, and lines on their face, around their mouths, around their eyes, etc. This is bad for women who try and maintain a youthful appearance , despite Father Time's havoc. For men smoking for a long period may bring changes in activity levels, or a lack of stamina. Even thoughts of heart disease and stroke. This will make a person quickly asign this goal for their selves.
Another goal that is in the forefront for a middle aged is ,enjoying their life more. Taking more vacations, time off from work, planning family outings and even getting together with old friends. As we age we always think of the future as final, and we start reflecting on those things we have not accomplished, or taken time for. If a man has been a hard worker all his life, he might make enjoying life his goal, or at least in his top ten resolutions.
Many times the goal middle agers look to having is getting their selves debt free. Many thoughts are headed to retirement age and the cost of living for the elderly. Many middle agers see theirselves planning for retirement and senior life. This is a common goal.
Everyone, regardless of age , usually try and make doing a good deed, their top resolutions as well. They now think of what all they have accomplished. And with our world always facing some struggle, helping others is a admirable goal, and probably one of the easiest to keep. Making our life count.
With all the hustle and bustle of every day life, getting organized, is also a common goal for middle agers. They want to start relaxing more, and one sure fire way is to get everything more organized. I fall here in this category as well.
Another goal common among middle agers is, creating a hobby or something they can enjoy doing. This is important, especially for parents with college age children in the home. With duties of being a full time parent disepating, now there needs to be something to keep the attention, to fill that void, if you will. A hobby serves this purpose.
For most middle agers a need to get more int une with the after events of ones life can start to weigh heavy. So it is not surprising to know that most middle agers make gettting a new religion, a new Christian lifestyle, or a better one, is important. Now that dying is on the minds more, at middle age, there has to be a higher being, a place after we part, for us to go. Maybe we need to get Baptised, or saved, or sprinkled. Maybe we need to ask for forgiveness, more, all these are gols for most if not a big majority of middle aged people.
And last but not least, I think the goal for most middle aged people, is to have a name for themselves. How to make this, is left to our own devices and thoughts. Some want to write a book, about their life, or some want to speak infront of assemblies about something they can realte to. Some want to ride in a hot air balloon, for everyone to see. Maybe it is a simple goal of winning the lottery, but something big is always a goal.
Be it white, or black, or brown, or red, whatever color, whatever nationallity we are most goals for New Years are the same. Make yours cout this coming year.
