Midnight

Jennifer Tarbox
My baby, he's gone and left me
A week ago Saturday Night.
And I'm feeling so low down
Now that things in my life just ain't right.
You know that if I could
I'd be years away from here.
But as it stands I think
I'll just wait for this bad air to clear.

Color me cool, cool blue,
Color me cool, midnight blue.
Color me, color me, color me blue,
Color me midnight.

I'm trying to forget him
But you know it ain't as easy as that.
Cause when he held me, he had me
Purring like a contented cat.
And I keep thinking,
What did I do to make him want to stray?
Stop thinking and keep yourself warm on this cool, cool day.

Color me cool, cool blue,
Color me cool, midnight blue.
Color me, color me, color me blue,
Color me midnight.

I'm wondering about her now,
Was she that good to you?
Or did you leave me just because
You had the chance to be untrue?
I keep asking God the question
Why'd he leave me high and dry?
But I don't get no answer from
That damn midnight sky.

Color me cool, cool blue,
Color me cool, midnight blue.
Color me, color me, color me blue,
Color me midnight.
