MIDNIGHT MAN
by
Rochelle Moore

Trumpet the arrival of your being
hidden within the cracks and crevasses
of torment and vacuity
Your silence is deafening allowing breath
no ease when faced with you
Icy cries of aloof disregard
personified, so close and harsh
I fear the closeness of your hatred
you plant with seeds of anger
Release me from the substance of your malignity
I long to fly but my wings are clipped with fear
No face you show, the warmth in me bled dry
withering with a disturbing calm
I reach towards the sky beseach forgiveness
I give my last breath weeping for serenity
