I was not expecting this to be a great tobacco based on the my first impression. The packaging looks like it is going to be a crappy tobacco. The packaging is a red pouch with the picture of a train on the front, the name Midnight Special also lead me to wonder if this was some cheap imported blend. I am on a really embarrassing budget these days, and at less than $3 per pouch after the disgusting price hike, spoke volumes to me. I could afford this, and a pouch of loose tobacco lasts me from 4 to 6 days. If memory serves me correctly, each pouch is .65 ounces, and includes 36 papers I believe, or something similar to that.
The aroma is fantastic, it is a nice blend of tobacco, from a company in the USA, that is easy to roll and it provides a really nice smoking experience. I have been really happy and impressed with this tobacco. It is affordable, it is not harsh and does not taste bad. It is one of the best loose tobaccos I have tried out! It is also hard to get in my area because so many others have discovered the value and quality of midnight special loose tobacco! I also really like the rolling papers that are included with each pouch. They are light yet sturdy and they are easy to roll with. They are as good as any other more expensive brand, and the perfect size for a hand rolled cigarette.
I will continue to purchase Midnight Special brand of tobacco, which is also available in menthol. It is a good blend of tobacco at a great price. I would recommend this loose tobacco to other smokers who are interested in rolling their own also. I learned a lesson with Midnight Special, don't judge a product based on its packaging!
