Playing the Fire Saturday April 23, 2011

Mike Herrera will be playing at The Fire in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 23. Mike is best known for his work in the punk pop band MXPX which he fronts. Recently he has been spreading his musical wings with side projects in alt-country "Tumbledown" and a 50's and 60's rock "Arthur". On his rare East Coast tour Herrera will pull material from all three bands. One man covering punk pop, alt country and retro Rock and Roll acoustically sounds interesting.

Show Information:

Mike is based out of Bremerton , Washington and does not make East Coast appearances often. Louis DeFabrizio from Gasoline Heart will be the supporting act. The show at The Fire will be at 5PM. Tickets are just $10 and available here. The reasonable ticket prices make an evening out to support live music on par with going to a movie. Herrera's tour will continue through May 4th and will take him to Baltimore , West Virginia , North Carolina , South Carolina , Tennessee , Georgia and Alabama . Specific tour dates and stops can be found here.

Reason for the Tour:

The primary reason for the tour is so Mike Herrera can perform for fans of his music, "MXPX" fans, "Tumbledown" fans, and "Arthur" fans on the East Coast. He also hopes to make some more fans as well. The second reason is to promote his latest release "Mike Herrera: Live from the Basement." The album should be a great representation of what music fans will hear when Mike is on tour rather than a proper solo album. The album will only be available during the tour or it can be purchased online here. The record is set to be released on April 26, 2011 .

Conclusion:

Mike Herrera is bringing an affordable, diverse tour to the East Coast. The small label musician will perform music ranging from pop, punk, alt country in a solo acoustic format.
