Mike Huckabee: A Presidential Candidate Worth Listening To

Joy Sexton
One of the most dangerous things any one of us can do is to lazily go about our lives and at the last moment choose a presidential candidate to cast our vote for! Early in my adult life I was introduced to the world of politics through an extended family who thought it important to be involved. On the fringes of the process I remained for several years, listening to the mainstream media and making my determination in time to cast my one vote.

After marrying my husband, however, I began to become more interested as I attended local meetings with him and studied exactly what our elected officials do. The more I learned the more alarmed I became. My distress came from the realization that many are like I had been, very uneducated about what is really taking place behind the scenes. Many just don't like politics, understandably so. Many, who are Christians are uninvolved because they believe that it is unimportant; God will have His way no matter what. There are many people however who are very involved in the political process. They work tirelessly to get their candidates elected, they give of their time and money to see that their agenda is passed, etc.

Over the last ten years I have become very concerned about my country, its direction and leadership. I've also realized that if I am not involved then I have no right to complain. It is my responsibility to know all that I can possibly learn about candidates, their records, their policies and most of all, I must determine if I can place my trust in them. Yes, I am a conservative Christian American. I believe in social and moral conservatism. I am 100% pro-life, having personally experienced the reality of God's power to create and preserve life. I believe in personal accountability and in individuals taking care of themselves and each other, not in big government. I also believe that Americans are taxed to death and penalized for hard work by our system. There are many issues that I feel strongly about.
But...

The most obvious truth that I have learned in my observance and participation in the political system is this. Men, and women, will do and say whatever is necessary to get elected. Once elected the truth about their intentions, personal aspirations, etc. become known. My goal in this upcoming election is to find the candidate that I believe I can place my confidence in. I may not agree with everything that comes out of my choice's mouth. I may not 100% agree with every decision he has made in the past. What I do have to have is confidence in his integrity and his knowledge that he is indeed just a human being - with a huge task. One who is dependent on Almighty God for direction. Only when I am convinced that my candidate is basing his decisions on Truth and prayer can I give him my vote.

It has been a great pleasure to watch the Mike Huckabee campaign over the past several months. This is a man of integrity. His policies and record as Governor of Arkansas are proof that he hasn't determined positions based on what will help him get elected. He has lived his beliefs. He has stood his ground. He is a clear thinker, a clear communicator of his thoughts and an obvious leader. Watch a debate. Huckabee leaves the rest floundering. Watch an interview. He is calm, clear, unwavering and intelligent. He comes across as a man of integrity, a man of honor, a man with great wisdom and a man who has his country's best interest at heart, not his own personal goals. Yes, he is a man of faith, a man with a past of serving people through ministry. This is not my reason for supporting him, though it does prove a servant's heart.

I encourage everyone to check out Mike Huckabee. Our mainstream media may not think he is worthy of our attention, but once you have seen and heard from him, you will. If you find him a man that you believe you can place your confidence in, then support his candidacy with your time, your voice and your money. With our help we can send him to the White House!

To: Governor Mike Huckabee. Mr. Governor,I want you to win the election for the Republican nominee running forThe President Of The United States Of America. I recently reregestered as a republican because there is knowone of record running ,Independend, and the Democrats really don't have the problems figured out as I think you do ,Sir. Irespect all of the Republican Candidates but Ifeel that I can trust you over the others because you are a Christian Minister, and not a so say christain like so many Politicians, and advisors, who really are part of a cult or brotherd, and worship saitonic gods and are amused by doing evel turns to other human communities. Governor Huckabee, pleade check out "Alex Jones" on the web at www.infowars.com or prison planit .com. I hope you make it on tuesday, and Iwill vote for you Sir. Sincerely, John Flittie, a concerned American.

Religious huckster Mike Huckabee is perhaps the most dangerous candidate running. A creationist who believes the earth was formed 6,000 years ago. Don't you think the leader of the free world should be able to pass fourth grade science? And Huckabee's knowledge of foreign policy is abysmal; he makes Bush looks like a whiz kid. Indeed, everyone should look very closely at these candidates, but even the most perfunctory look at Huckabee should result in immediate disqualification.

I agree with you 100%. The more I hear Mike Huckabee talk the more I like him. I wish everyone, especially those eligible to vote, would take the time to check him out and listen to what he has to say. We are living in dangerous times and if the wrong person gets in the While House it could be disasterous.
