Mike Lynche Sings "Just the Way You Look Tonight" as the Epitome of Suave

Felt hat, debonair suit and slowly opening eyelids. It was no surprise when everyone's attention became focused on Mike Lynche as he started singing "Just the Way You Look Tonight."

You could hear a pin drop as Mike swaggers and croons in a style that screams Frank Sinatra. His performance was literally awesome. As he has shown us through out this ninth season of American Idol, Mike is a gifted singer, and extremely talented performer. If there was ever a question in anyone's mind that Mike deserved to be among the finalists; his rendition of this song just clinched it.

To Mike's delight; his performance of this song made famous by Frank Sinatra, earned him a standing ovation by many in the audience. One thing that made everything flow together perfectly was the fact that Mike seemed totally at ease with his accompaniment. They both seemed destined to be together. It was like they were both together, forming one sound.

It was just icing on the cake when the judges liked his performance as much as the crowd did. With a big smile on his face Randy Jackson announced, "Mike is in it, to win it!" The smile, and the look of him knowing he did a good job, confirmed that he was. Ellen DeGeneres was a bit more subdued when she told Mike, "You seem to have more comfort on stage, and you showed it tonight." I had to agree with Kara when she said, "You found your drama. You took us up, and you took his down..." When Simon proclaimed to Mike that "Everything worked ... That was fantastic," it was almost a shoe - in that we would be seeing Mike Lynche on American Idol next week. He couldn't help but be there after an amazing performance such as this.
