Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley

This Chili was Really Good and Not Too Spicy

I recently decided to try out two different kinds of chili. They were from the same brand and were the same price except one of them was the spicy version and the other was mild. The mild version was Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley. Prior to trying out their chile I had tried a couple of their cereals. These cereals were Organic Multigrain Maple Honey Nut Square-Ems Cereal and Organic Multigrain Apple Cinnamon Square-Ems Cereal and although I was not crazy about them I decided to keep the company in mind when it came to looking for organic foods. Thus, I was fairly confident that I would like the chili made from this company. In addition to getting some of their chili, I also looked at a lot of the soups that they had to offer since they were part of the sale. By the time I got done eating everything I would have a pretty good opinion on the company.

When I tried the Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley I was trying the spicy version as well. I can honestly say that I liked the mild version of the vegetarian chili a lot more. While they both offered an excellent taste I just preferred the amount of spice that I got in the mild one. In addition to providing a very nice blend of spicy the Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley offered a very nice seasoned chili. I assumed that the ingredients might be similar so I compared them. They were almost identical ingredients with the exception of the very last ingredients listed for the spicy verison which was natural chili flavor. I had no idea that all it took was a little chili flavor to make a chili so spicy. The ingredients of the mild version were filtered water, organic tomatoes, organic pinto beans, organic tomato paste, organic onions, organic carrots, organic soy protein, organic corn starch, organic evaporated cane juice, chipotle peppers, organic spices, organic onion powder and organic garlic powder. I assumed that with the ingredients being so alike that the nutrition facts would be similar. I was correct because they were actually identical.

The nutrition facts for the Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley, and their spicy version for that matter, were based on one cup of chili. One cup of this chili was actually about half of the can that it came in so each can contained about two servings. In one serving there was one hundred and fifty calories with only ten calories from fat. There was seventy-five milligrams of sodium in a cup of the chili, which was as low as it was because the vegetarian chili did not contain any added salt. The protein content for a serving was nine grams, sugars listed five grams, fiber listed ten grams and the content for carbohydrates listed thirty-one grams. The minerals and vitamins section of the nutrition facts were exactly the same as well and they listed iron with fifteen percent, calcium with ten percent, vitamin C with thirty percent and vitamin A with fifteen percent as well. Once again I thought that the nutrition facts looked nice. Overall the ingredients and nutrition facts of the Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley were nice.

The sale that Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley was part of was three canned goods from the Health Valley company for five dollars. This made each can sixteen or seventeen cents more than a buck and a half. I didn't think that this was too bad of a price and was happy that I happen to see it. I can see myself getting this chili again, I think that it would be handy to keep a can of it on hand for those days I am craving chili but am just not up to making it from scratch. I would recommend for anyone to give this chili a try. I didn't think that it was too spicy and if you really like spicy chili you can get a can of this and a can of the spicy chili. You can always add something to make it more spicy, which you could do if you decided that this chili was not spicy enough for your liking. I am glad that I tried both because I definitely prefer the mild version. Don't let the fact that the chili is vegetarian fool you. I have been eating vegetarian chili for years and I have never looked back. I have many compliments on my own homemade vegetarian chili, even from people who regularly eat meat. Whether your looking for a chili that is salt free, vegetarian or organic, or all of the above, I would recommend giving the Organic Mild Vegetarian Chunky Chili from Health Valley a try as well as other Health Valley food
