Miley Cyrus Blames Herself for Parents' Divorce

Many young people struggle to come to terms with their parents' divorce, and Miley Cyrus is no exception. According to a Disnology source, Miley Cyrus may even blame herself for the breakdown of her parents' marriage.

"Both parents have been equally involved in making their daughter a superstar. And now that they have achieved their goal they have nothing to work towards anymore and nothing to keep them together."

According to Disnology, Miley Cyrus' success caused her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, to go from loving parents, to hardworking business partners, leaving their relationship to fall apart after 17 years.

Those are pretty weighty claims to suggest that Miley's career contributed to the breakdown of her parents' marriage. Still, I hope Miley doesn't blame herself for her parents' divorce.

It was her parents' decision to devote so much to her career, and their decision to divorce. For all we know, Billy Ray and Tish could have been staying together all this time for the sake of the children.

On October 27, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. As they told People Magazine, "We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers."

According to NBC Dalls-Fort Worth, Bret Michaels denied rumors that he was having an affair with Tish Cyrus, explaining that his relationship was nothing more than friendship and that he had been a longtime friend of the family. "It started out with me and Miley simply working on a song together. Her mom, Tish, likes "Every Rose Has Its Thorn," the first concert Miley ever saw was Poison, and so they wanted to remake it for the new record."

Billy Ray and Tish have five children. One can only imagine how difficult it must be for them. According to Helpguide.org, many children blame themselves for their parents' divorce, recalling times they had gotten poor grades or gotten into trouble.

Parents can help their kids by reassuring them by explaining the real reasons for the divorce and reassuring them that it wasn't their fault.

Hopefully Miley Cyrus is leaning on her friends and family through this difficult time. It's not her fault!
