Miley Cyrus Dumps Twitter

J. R. Steele
STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Or more appropriately, stop the tweets!!! According to omg! (by Yahoo!), pop icon Miley Cyrus has decided to cancel her Twitter account. This turn of events is stunning. How are the millions of fans that NEED to know her every move going to live without getting constant "tweets" from Cyrus about the minutia of her life? Why would she shun her fans like that? Doesn't she care that she might be throwing away her career? EVERYBODY has a Twitter account, right? I'm sure the gossip blogs and magazines will give the world the real scoop about why she cut the cord. I'm sure we can count on the paparazzi to produce photographic proof of why she pulled the plug.

Maybe that is why little Miss Cyrus decided to answer the question herself. Not only did she decide to answer the questions, she decided to answer them in style as she danced and dropped rhymes in a YouTube video.

omg! revealed these tasty lyrics from Cyrus, "I had to say goodbye and this little rap is to tell my fans why..."
"It wasn't because my friend told me to. Everything that I type and everything that I do, all the lame gossip sites take it and they make it news... I want my private life private... I'm living for me."

WHOA!!!

I'm shocked and amazed. The fact that this is news concerns me a bit. Has Twitter really become that important in pop culture? It's news when a celebrity cancels their account? It's important enough to have to make a video about it and explain why you did it?

WHOA!!!

If Twitter has that kind of impact and is so socially relevant, I guess any business or celebrity that doesn't have a Twitter account had better get with the program because it doesn't seem like it is going away anytime soon!!!

I am not a fan of twitter either but I honestly think she made the right choice too many people watching all her moves.

I still haven't tried Twitter. Have gone to sign up several times to promote my AC and Examiner, but it's just too mind-boggling for me to think of having to keep up with more people!

I'm pretty sure Twitter is just a fad, and if Miley has signed off on it, its days could be numbered. Then again, Miley's pretty much a fad, too. We'll see which one fades first!
