Miley Cyrus' Friend Anna Oliver Pays a Stiffer Price

Don't Mess with Miley Fans

Miley Cyrus' friend Anna Oliver shot the Miley Cyrus salvia video that hit the Net, found at TMZ. Now TMZ reports that Anna Oliver has received so many threats that she's gone into hiding.

Do your homework before you diss a famous celebrity. Miley Cyrus' salvia video showed Cyrus smoking the powerful hallucinogenic herb out of a bong. It's the type of image that the ex-Hannah Montana doesn't need. Now that word has leaked out as to who is responsible for the infamous video, it's not Cyrus that needs to worry as much. In fact, the 18-year-old mega teen was recently seen living it up with Kelly Osbourne in clubs in New Orleans.

Cyrus has a new, sexier image these days, but fans, old and new, love her. When Miley Cyrus' friend Anna Oliver came to the Internet surface, Oliver began receiving threats at her Facebook and at her Twitter.

"Dear Anna Oliver, I know you want to be a little fame whore, but you're not good at it. We hate your guts. Love, EVERYONE."

"What would you do if you met Anna Oliver? -- Probably kick her teeth in."

TMZ claims a source tells them the Miley Cyrus salvia video was stolen or copied from the camera. Others say Oliver sold the video to TMZ. In any case, shooting a video of your friend in a vulnerable position, especially when the friend is a celebrity, is not a nice thing to do.

But does the perpetrator deserve threats as a result? Miley Cyrus' friend Anna Oliver has also reportedly left New Orleans where Miley is shooting her new movie "So Undercover."

Celebrity worship is a pretty normal thing, but it can get crazy. As reported by Dr. John Grohol, "Celebrity worship for purely entertainment purposes likely reflects an extroverted personality and is most likely a healthy past time for most people. This type of celebrity worship involves harmless behaviors such as reading and learning about a celebrity. Intense personal attitudes towards celebrities, however, reflect traits of neuroticism. The most extreme descriptions of celebrity worship exhibit borderline pathological behavior and traits of psychoticism. This type of celebrity worship may involve empathy with a celebrity's failures and successes, obsessions with the details of a celebrity's life, and over-identification with the celebrity."

The image of Cyrus that we had in our minds got harmed, and Cyrus worshipers don't like that. As far as Miley Cyrus' friend Anna Oliver, some may even think, "If you diss Miley Cyrus, you diss me."

It's also this type of celebrity worship that can help a troubled celebrity continue to make a good living. When a beloved rap artist goes to jail, most of his fans are waiting for him on the outside. It's only when a celebrity repeatedly screws up, like a Lindsay Lohan, do fans start to leave.

wow.... yes it's definitely true that anything resulting in negative publicity for a huge star will make their fans point fingers almost immediately. In the case of Miley & the smoking video, it's hard to feel bad for the Anna girl, since she seemed so content in the moment.
