Miley Cyrus in Good Company for Teenagers at Number 1 on the Charts

Jane Vee
Miley Cyrus isn't the only teen sensation. She is just the sensation of today with being on top of the charts twice in her young 15 years of life. Other teen sensations have came and gone before her. Only time will tell if she will stick around. The way she runs her life seems to be professional and business like so I am sure if she wants singing to be her career she will do it.

According to Week Ending July 27, 2008: Miley's Young, But She's Not The Youngest by Paul Grein Miley Cyrus has topped the charts again. This time her #1 album is Breakout. Although she is only 15 years old she is not the youngest person to reach #1. The Wonder Child was Stevie Wonder when a little over 13 years old he topped the chart in 1963 with Little Stevie Wonder! The 12 Year Old Genius. Miley Cyrus is in good company as a musical teen sensation.

The first teen sensation on record was in 1958. The teen singer was Ricky Nelson. Ricky Nelson was 17 years old at the time. The chart topping album was Ricky. Other teen musical sensations that are a little more recent are Tiffany in 1988 who was 16; Bobby Brown in 1989 was 19; Kris Kross was 13 and 14 in 1992; Avril Lavigne and Ashlee Simpson both in 2004 were 19.

As for having two number one albums as a teenager, Miley Cyrus is in the company of LeAnn Rimes who was also 15 years old, Hilary Duff and Joey McIntrye were 17, and Britney Spears was 18.

Miley Cyrus and her father Billy Ray Cyrus are only one of two families with a parent and child both having #1 albums. The other family was the Coles, Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole.
