Miley Cyrus' Hacker Exposed: Inside the Unstable Mind of "Trainreq"

Brian
Imagine yourself sitting behind a computer screen in the comfort of your own home. When you try to login to check your email, the password you've used for years suddenly won't grant you access to your account. You receive a jolt of fear as you've come to the realization you may have been the victim of a malicious hacker.

The international pop sensation, Miley Cyrus, was the victim of such an attack toward late 2008. A 19-year-old self proclaimed hacker and "digital gangster," Josh Holly of Tennessee, hacked Miley Cyrus last year and leaked racy photos of the star. One of the questionable photographs was of the then fourteen year old singer and actress in the shower with only a wet t-shirt covering her body. Another picture confirmed a rumor that captivated every preteen's fascination; Miley Cyrus did date the famous Jonas Brother, Nick Jonas.

Nearly six months later, Josh Holly (also known as Trainreq), is preparing to face a legal battle that even Miley Cyrus' lawyer wouldn't be able to defend. In addition to hacking Miley Cyrus, Trainreq is also being charged with tax evasion. According to an FBI affidavit, Trainreq admitted that he played a major role in an enormous scheme to generate millions of those junk emails we all hate. In fact, he reportedly flooded over 7.5 million email accounts with spam emails he was being paid to mass distribute through illegal methods.

As compensation for what Trainreq refers to as "hard work," he was paid a shocking sum of money-prepare yourself-nearly $110,000 throughout the course of November 2007 to July 2008. Unfortunately for this uneducated self-proclaimed hacker, he failed to pay taxes on this money and is now facing the previously mentioned tax evasion charges.

Many people only see the Trainreq personality the menacing teenager cowers behind. However, the unstable mental condition of Josh Holly, the person behind the alias, needs to be investigated. According to Holly, he visits a discussion board for hackers nearly 50 times a day. Through reading some of Holly's messages on this discussion board, it quickly becomes apparent that he is a troubled teen battling serious issues, such as contemplating suicide. Take for example one of his posts under his username Trainreq, where he can be seen crying out for help:

"I can't take this anymore cuz nobody respects what I did. I hacked Miley Cyrus n nobody respects me. I DEMAND RESPECT! I'm an internet gangster n I'm about tp [sic] hack more major celebrities and political figures but nobody cares. I want to kill myself. I know I've said it before, but this time I really will kill myself cuz I want to be respected."

As one can see, Josh Holly (Trainreq) deals with internal conflicts on a daily basis. His need for acceptance by a group of people he's never met in real life demonstrates that this teenager's problems extend way beyond hacking Miley Cyrus. Dealing with charges such as tax evasion and hacking does not help to boost his already low self-esteem. It is time for Miley Cyrus' hacker to stop hiding behind a computer screen and face his problems like those without crime and Internet addictions do. Perhaps after a few years of intense therapy and time in jail, Trainreq will no longer be such a train wreck.
