Anheuser-Busch theme parks have a "Here's to the Heroes" program that allows military families to visit one of their parks during the year for free. Some of the parks have multiple locations and include: Bush Gardens, Sea World, Sesame Place, Adventure Island, and Water Country USA. An online registration form can be filled out, or guests may inquire about the program at each theme park's guest services.
Another theme park, Six Flags Over Georgia, offers free admission to military personnel on their branch- specific day. During Independence Day week, all military personnel receive half off the regular admission price of a ticket; however, Six Flags has an individual day for each branch of the military. On that day, a service specific member and their family can get in for free, up to four tickets. Members have to present their ID cards at the ticket booth to receive either offer.
Further south, the city of St. Augustine, Florida has an annual PAL day where service members can visit many of the city's attractions for free. The USO hosts the annual event, and offers it during the first weekend in December. While many attractions are free to military personnel, some are only free to members in uniform, and others don't offer free admission to their families, so it is best to check with the individual museum or attraction first.
While taking advantage of the free or discounted admission at many of these locations, it is also helpful to locate the closest base to the attraction. This is particularly helpful to travelers who may be unfamiliar with the area and are seeking a safe and secure hotel to stay in. Almost all bases have guest accommodations and they are offered at very reasonable rates. In addition, since they are located on a military base, there is no tax, which can save travelers money. If traveling by RV, many also have RV parks or campsites available. Taking advantage of these great offers is just one more way to enjoy the benefits of military life.

Post a Commentwhile its great...the discounts..I enjoyed them when i went to disneyworld in 2007, while down there i got in free to sea world as well..it was fun..but i am out of the service now and not a retiree so unfortunately i dont get to enjoy these things anymore and wish something could be done because our veterans deserve the same thanks as well..some of these park prices are outrageous and thats not to include food and drink..at some places you might be looking at atleast 500 dollars a day just about...not to say that everyone else shouldnt get discounted tickets..but our nations military is an all volunteer force and either way that should be appreciated by all who have served and honorably discharged, retired, disabled, or still serving...
i agree with the previous statement....i am a military spouse myself and i think its rather silly to have ONE designated day to appreciate the military for any branch. i shpuld be an everyday thing, sucha as busch gardens and sea world have graciously done! with most of the men and women serving overseas, when the assigned free days come up, most of us will not get to enjoy these days with our loved ones, as they may not be able to be home with us at that spacific time. i think they should change that and make it available everyday so we may all have a chance to take advantageof these would-be memorable moments and make it free for the service member's spouse and children as well! :D
While these discounts are great; the military men and women serve 365 days not on 1 specific day. I think some of these places should offer these discounts all the time rather than "just on a specific day". It is not like they are losing money. The military personnel's family still have to pay........................... that is just my opinion. :D
I am sending this to a friend at 29 Palms!
