For starters, the military is aware that deployment is very difficult on not just the soldiers but also their families. The military tries to be as certain as they can that the soldiers and their families are prepared enough to have clear minds as much as possible for the upcoming deployment. Many meetings take place with the soldiers and their families to help ensure this process as a success as clearly as they can without giving classified information. This allows families of soldiers to connect and also support each other while their soldiers are away.
Although soldiers have alot of training and may have some long days, the military does recognize the need for family time. The military is well aware that family is very important to the soldiers. Before deployment, the soldiers are allowed to take a block leave, this can be a week and up to a month or so. This allows the soldiers time to visit, spend and enjoy time with their families before they head out for their long deployment. This time helps rest assure the soldiers family as well as give the soldier a nice break before they have to return to begin the pre deployment training and briefings.
Once the block leave ends, each soldier must process thru medical, dental, vision and legal successful in order to be qualified to be able to deploy. The soldier must also get particular immunizations to prevent particular diseases and infections that they would be at risk of getting from the area in which they are being deployed. If there are other medical, dental and or vision concerns then the military personnel assist soldiers in correcting these issues. If the soldier has serious health issues in which would make their health even worse if the deployed, then that soldier then becomes non deployable. Soldiers such as so will remain behind and help support its unit operation from the units original base. They are also used as a valuable resource for the soldiers families if needed for so.
The legal aspect covers power of attorneys and wills. The soldiers are briefed on the types of power or attorneys that are available. The briefing also covers the importance of will. Power of attorneys and wills are then created for each soldier prepared for their specific needs, free of charge.
The soldier then must get the correct equipment that is needed to protect them and help them complete the mission successfully. They are sent to areas in which will supply them their equipment for free. Equipment is explained and checked to make sure it is correct equipment needed.
Soldiers then will go thru many classes. These classes will include scenarios in many aspects. The learn information in order to assist them if they were in a hostage, prisoner of war, missing in action and even in escaping environments. Classroom battle tactics are offered in a classroom setting. The soldiers will also conduct tactical battle drills on foot as well as hands on first aid.
Up until departure date, soldiers are constantly reminded to make sure everything is squared away with them and their families before they leave for the long haul. For those who wandered about the deployment preparation, rest assured that soldiers are being prepared the best that they can be for deployment.
