This hotel features a revolving restaurant on the top floor called Top of the RiverFront. It takes about an hour for the restaurant to make a complete revolution offering beautiful views of the city, the Arch, and the river. The menu options are a little pricey, but the food is good and the service is excellent. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Sunday nights, but Sunday mornings offers a brunch with varied menu items. There is a full bar in the restaurant in addtion to a Martini bar downstairs on the lobby level. The hotel is also home to the Fourth Street Grill located one floor below the lobby on the Mezzanine level.
Although they are small, the guest rooms are gorgeous. My room was on the 21st floor and had an incredible view of the Arch. Rooms feature a 27" TV with remote, pillow-top mattersses, and tea or coffee makers. The hotel claims to offer wireless internet service, however from my room I could not get a strong enough signal to be online for more than a few minutes. If you need internet access I recommend bringing your lap top down to the lobby or to a Starbucks.
The hotel has both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a small but adequate fitness center. The pool's hours vary, while the fitness center is 24 hours.
Please be aware that you will be charged for everything. Every room has bottles of water there when you check-in, if they are opened, your credit card will be charged $5.00... be advised there is a convenience store within walking distance where you can purchase a similar bottle of water for around $0.79. There is also free tap-water for the very thirsty/frugal. Parking for the hotel is located in a garage across the street. Although some packages include parking, some do not, and you will be charged $16 per night per car. I'm sure there is cheaper parking somewhere in the city, however my husband and I could not find it.
The staff was excellent. Everyone was very nice, and went out of their way to make things pleasant. Any points the hotel loses for costliness are quickly made-up in the friendly staff area. At check-in the ladies who helped me were personable and friendly. They chatted with me, without compromising the wait-time or efficiency of the check-in process. The staff in the restaurant and the Martini Bar were also very pleasant, and the service was prompt.
The downtown location of the Millennium Hotel puts it within walking distance to several St. Louis attractions including the Gateway Arch, Busch Stadium and President Casino. The Anheuser Busch Brewery is just 2 miles away and offers free tours. The St. Louis Zoo and the St Louis Science Center are both 3 miles away, and free to the public.
Overall I would say that my stay at the Millennium enhanced my trip to St Louis. I would deffinitely recommend staying there to a friend - especially if said friend had deep pockets.
