"You're the first person to order a triple since 1941" the waitress told me. "I sure am. I haven't been back since 1941 in a past life" I smartly replied.

I heard about Miller's Bar when I was reading an article in Wall Street Journal summarizing the best burgers in the United States. The first thing I thought when I saw Miller's was, "I want to go there and eat a burger right now." The 2nd thought was, "How come I did not know about this place before?" Anyway, the restaurant was ranked 8th in GQ for best burgers. They've been featured on the Oprah Show so you know that they will always be crowded.

There are no carry out orders. What else is the bar missing? Menus perhaps. Plates too. Also, silverware and the bill. When you leave you go to the bar and tell the cashier what you ordered and pay. This is a nice breakaway from the normal scenery of plastic baskets, silverware that's been used 100 times and never cleaned.

You can tell them how you like it. You can order cheese or no cheese. You can order a single or a double. The condiments are brought to the table for you. They have onion rings and French fries as sides. You can get beer, soda or bottled water but you cannot order tap water.

Don't go there on Sunday. They are closed. The service is friendly, which is always a positive. I just don't see how they can be the 8th best burgers in America. By the way, I did eat 3 burgers. But it turns out the week before someone ate 7 so I have a lot to work on for next time!
