Today, part time workers at Mill's Pride cabinet factory picked up their checks and headed to the unemployment offices. Earlier this week, the workers were escorted from the facility by guards after plant authorities stated that they was being laid off.
More layoffs of full time employees are to be expected within two to three months. Exactly how many can expect to lose their jobs are not being disclosed at this time. Worker are from Pike, Ross, Jackson and Scioto counties.
Rumors of a total plant closure and relocation to China make their way through the grapevine. With the local economy already being strained by low and no income families, the common man's outlook on this is bitter to say the least.
