Milwaukee Wisconsin's 145th Consecutive Memorial Day Parade

Rick Cherubini
The time has come once again for the Memorial Day Parade in Milwaukee Wisconsin. That is right Milwaukee Will be having its 145th "CONSECUTIVE" Memorial Day Parade.

At the time of the writing of this article it is hard to say what they will be doing special for this Memorial Day parade. I truly believe that if they ate planning any large surprises for this years parade they are keeping a fairly tight lid on it.

Still looking for support

If you follow the link above you will see they are still looking for more volunteers and organizations to be in the parade.

The parade will be held on May 31st. It is scheduled to start at 2 P.M. The planes route is for the Parade it depart 4th and Washington and head to Prospect Avenue. It will then follow Prospect Ave. North to Mason street. East on Mason street to Lake Drive. Where the parade will go past the WAR MEMORIAL. Then it will finally end at Veterans Park.

After the parade they will be holding on Honors Ceremony at the reflecting pool.

If this parade is anything like it has been in the past you will want to get there early to make sure you get a good spot to see the parade.

This parade normally has more spectators than a lot of the other parades that we have in Milwaukee during the year.

The reasons I feel this way is the weather. In Wisconsin we have a true four seasons. In Milwaukee especially because of Lake Michigan.

For the Thanksgiving, and Christmas parades we normally have cold and snowy weather. For the 4th of July It is normally way to hot. Memorial Day is normally a perfect temperature.

Most people have also been cooped up indoors all winter and are looking for a good excuse to get outdoors and do something and this is it.

Have a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day. Please keep in mind what Memorial Day really is. A day to remember those people that died in our wars. Whether we believe the wars where right or wrong doesn't matter. These brave men and woman gave there lives for there country.
