If you're looking for the perfect restaurant you might just have found it. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina is a place called Mimi's Café.

Some of the features include antique stone floors, brick walls, wood floors and beamed ceilings. Vibrant, New Orleans colors, jazzy art and bold fabrics go together to create visual excitement and a feeling of a Mardi Gras celebration in each restaurant!

The one in Raleigh is separated into three different premise areas. The largest is a New Orleans themed room. Adorning the walls are different kinds of posters and authentic Mardi Gras items.

At one end of the room is a mock up an outdoor café complete with red and white checkered table cloths. The opposite end as a drum set which depicts the Jazz bars of New Orleans and Bourbon Street.

A second area is known as the bistro. With rich red and dark colors, this room also boasts those wrought iron chairs. Even the booths are red. The last area is simply known as the wine cellar. This is a quaint room with a curved brick ceiling. It's also the smallest of the three.

Originally founded in the late nineteen seventies, Mimi's offers all kinds of food, especially with New Orleans style flair.

Your experience starts the moment you walk into the door greeted with cobblestone floors and friendly staff. After you have been escorted to your table, and are in one of three areas it's time to get started.

I would suggest you start with an appetizer. The fried dill pickles are out of this world and a favorite among many people. Once you're appetite has been whet, it's time to order the main course. Keep in mind there are a number of dishes to choose from and so many.

The Café fish and chips is out of this world. Season crispy fish filets are cooked to perfection and is served with seasoned fries and a side of coleslaw. To add your server will bring fresh baked bread and banana nut bread.

Now let's not forget breakfast. Yes Mimi's serves breakfast every day of the week; on weekends they serve until two p.m. So if you and your spouse want to laze around and eat later, you have that option. You want to arrive early because it can get a bit busy.

They offer Mimosa, which is also rather tasty. And as for their breakfast selections, well again there are just too many to choose from. The time we ate there, I had the steak and eggs; talk about something delicious. There was too much food we couldn't eat it all.

Don't fret you will not leave Mimi's hungry. The prices are reasonable and comparable to other restaurants in the area.

Overall the experience is one of a kind and you won't soon forget your trip to Mimi's café. I give these restaurant five stars out of five. The service is outstanding, as is the atmosphere and food.
