Mind, Body, Spirit: How to Live a Full Life

Comprehensive Alternative Healing

Deborah Oakes, NPS
Mind, body and spirit are all aspects of our health. In the past, my alternative healing articles dealt with the body and recently, with the mind and spirit. Mind, body and spirit must be in balance to live a full life. It also seems each affects the other so when we experience illness, each much be examined.

Healthy Diet

Because mind, body and spirit are intertwined, this article is a review of past articles, along with further suggestions for spiritual growth. In my eight articles on the anti-inflammatory diet, I provide information for the
the basis for physical health, no matter which challenges one is facing. This diet is the healthy diet for everyone, even if diabetes, cancer, mononucleosis, heart disease or any disease is present in your life. Also included in these articles is a test for silent inflammation to catch it early before disease sets in.

Smokers

There are also reviews of specific products which may be purchased for specific needs. Included within these articles are products for smokers who wish to quit smoking. I'm going to make a radical statement here and point out that smoking is harmful if chemical products are used. Purchase non-chemical tobacco and non-chemical papers to smoke without the dangerous effects of chemicals. My opinion is that many smokers disregard their emotional needs and smoke a cigarette instead. So, my advice is to be aware of smoking habits and notice if it is used for escape.

Stress and Anxiety

I also published articles on stress and anxiety, including an interview with a licensed psychologist on handling stress. These articles are meant to assist in looking at our emotional, daily life. Emotional intelligence is one of the healthiest and sadly, one of the least explored areas of the human psyche. Thankfully, spiritual practices can assist with growth in this area.

Meditation

I published an article on meditation and am providing more information on this practice. Recently, I have been involved with translating a book, God: The Architect, which has helped transform me. It is mentioned within this book many ancient practices which are still valid today. One of these practices is deity worship which, from my experience, is quite dramatic in the effects.

In USA TODAY, an article on How America Sees God, mentions 5% of the population is atheist or agnostic and the rest of Americans are scattered in our perception of God. For those who believe in God, I recommend looking into the ancient, Vedic scriptures for further information from God for growth of mind, body and spirit.
