Mind Games

From TB'S Poetry Book "Disturbances"

T.B. Taylor

I opened my eyes and fell.

To a place worse than eternal hell.

But there is a warmth that caresses my skin

That lights the fear that comes form within.

The inside is cold and the outside is hot

Making me remember what I forgot:

The undying passion of ages past

From an era that was meant to last,

The evil made form unbound hate,

And I can tell it is too late.

Your lips touch mine, bringing the fire,

The touch of your hand making the flame leap higher.

The passion bringing me an unquenchable thirst

While all around the flames begin to burst.

An un-relinquishing hunger comes with your touch

And I can already see I've done too much:

I close my eyes and suppress a scream.

I pray and hope it is all ad ream,

Times before I had met with your kind

But even then I'd not known this rape of the mind.

My fear suppressed, I open my eyes.

You are still there; my final faith dies.
