Mind-Control: Your Own Mind, that Is

Lisa Plummer
Maintaining a positive attitude is very important if you want to live a positive life.

We have many thoughts. Some conscious, some not.

The key to having the life we want is in becoming aware of all of our thoughts and controlling them.

With the release of The Secret, more people than ever before are discovering the importance of a positive attitude and the power of thought.

Being persistent in approaching life in a positive way will result in a joyful existence.

Our bodies respond to our minds.

Just think of the last time you had to speak publicly.

Did your mouth get dry? Did your knees shake? Your hands get cold?

Did something horrible happen to you to bring about this response?

No. It was your mind already assuming all the worst possible outcomes. You might stutter, burp, trip and fall, become mute, get the hiccups-or worse, be a bore.

Your mind fed your body all the scary fight or flight signals and your body responded, "Flee, flee! Get us out of here!"

Imagine that your mind were feeding your body signals of "You are a great speaker who will connect with your audience. They will learn something from you and you will be friends."

How differently would we approach the podium? We would feel we were just chatting comfortably with old friends.

This is true of every life situation.

We can't wait, however, until those situations are upon us.

It is good to practice every day. Think more good thoughts. Think less negative thoughts.

Be grateful for every thing you can think of. You may be surprised by the number when you begin to list all the things for which you are thankful.

This simple practice will begin your transformation.

You can have a positively wonderful life.

  • Positive thoughts lead to a positive life.
  • Our bodies respond to our mind.
  • Be grateful every day.
Just as our bodies respond to negative input from the mind (think: nervousness, shaking, dry-mouth), we can just as easily respond to positive input from the mind.

    Words to live by!

  • Cheryl Finley9/9/2007

Wise words to live by indeed. And yes, I've experienced the butterflies in my stomach, and the frog in my throat, and I even had a cat get my tongue a few times! Thank you for the reminder, Lisa. Very well said!

WOW! How beautiful and well said! I think that is very true! I've seen a huge difference in myself by reading the positive comments left for me each day. It has helped me to think more positively about things. I was one to keep to myself before. I am not that way anymore. Thanks to the bloggers that leave comments and things like reading this. It is so true and important to let others know that they should think positively. GREAT JOB!
