Mindy McCready Taken to the Hospital in Florida

McCready's Name is Again Linked to Drug Use

Mindy McCready's mother, Gayle Inge, reportedly called 911 today stating "My daughter just took an overdose." McCready was transported to Cape Coral Hospital in Cape Coral, Florida from her parents' home in North Ft. Myers, according to WINK News on CBS. Mindy McCready was reportedly admitted to Cape Coral Hospital with a hospital spokesman stating McCready will remain in the hospital overnight.

Some reports indicate there was a "misunderstanding" about whether Mindy McCready was actually suffering from a drug overdose. McCready may have simply had a "bad reaction" to Darvocet and a muscle relaxant she was taking for a reported broken toe, as reported by TMZ.

Gayle Inge later reported to WINK News that she "might have overreacted a little bit" regarding her call to 911 requesting an ambulance for McCready. Inge reports she became concerned when Mindy was unable to speak and spilled her coffee. TMZ states a representative for Mindy McCready, Brent Young, has indicated he's talked with Mindy and that she is in good condition.

WINK News reports McCready has been staying at her parents' home in North Ft. Myers, Florida since last Tuesday. She is apparently there to attend a hearing regarding her son, Xander who resides at the Inge home in Florida.

Frankly, Darvocet and a muscle relaxant seem to be rather extreme medications to take for a broken toe. Typically, people working an active recovery program for alcohol or drugs would seek advice from a physician who understands addiction to make recommendations for the best medications to use for such an injury. Unfortunately, Mindy McCready is one of a number of celebrities who recently has had to live out her personal struggles with alcohol and drugs in the public eye.

Mindy McCready, a lesser-known country singer/celebrity, just released her ninth album, I'm Still Here. Also of note is McCready's recent completion of a stint on Celebrity Rehab, starring Dr. Drew Pinsky. McCready has a rather colorful history of alcohol and drug abuse and was first arrested in 2004 for-drug-related criminal charges, according to the CMT website. She was a victim in a domestic violence incident with a boyfriend in 2007. Over the past year or so, McCready has struggled to get sober and regain custody of her only son, Xander.

The comment about 'seeking advice from a physician' very clearly shows that you don't know what you are talking about.
