Mineral Based Makeup: My Experience

Debra Paulsen
Mineral Based Makeup: My Experience - My Basic make up routine consist of mascara, eye liner and a light application of base foundation to even out my skin tones. In the fall and winter a whisper of blush. In the summer time I spend so much time outdoors riding horses and gardening I skip the blush, preferring the natural glow from the sun. In my teen age years I do confess to wearing those vibrant green and blue eye shadows that were so popular in the seventies.

I've never been a perfect make-up poster girl, beauty queen type, I prefer light , quick and easy coverage. You woman of my age probably know what I mean when I say that I've tried just about every wonder coverage make up that has come and gone in the past twenty plus years, and now I have My tried and true products. When they run low I always look for the same exact brand to buy.

Like many others I have been hearing quite a bit about the Mineral Science line of products. Two out of three of my daughters absolutely Love the stuff. So, while not one for change , when I came across an offer of a starter set Of Mineral Science products for only shipping costs I decided to try it for myself.

The Mineral science line are all powdered products, including the foundation..

They come in small containers with perforated plastic which offers some control over the amount of make up you can load into the supplied brushes.
Swirl, tap, apply ladies.

Now I will say that initially I really loved the Mineral Science products. They applied very evenly, covered well, and my skin felt so soft ! When I walked away from the mirror I was very happy with the results.

About an hour later I happened to pass a mirror, and like any woman trying a new make up I turned for a look on the way by.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !

Ladies Mineral Science Products may be as great as my youthful daughters claim, but let me tell you when I looked at my reflection I scared myself . I laugh as I type, but seriously it looked like every last molecule of moisture had been sucked out of my face. I do have weathered skin from outdoor living, and of course age, but after using Mineral Science powdered products I resembled a giant raisin with big blue eyes.

My daughters were quite happy as they divvied up the booty.
One woman's junk another woman's treasure.
