The Mini Tyrael is a non-combat pet that is promotional gift available to both Alliance and Horde members who attended the 2008 Blizzard Worldwide Invitational event. This event is meant to serve as a place for player to meet each other and the developers while getting access to future game demos or other activities related to Blizzard's game universes. The 2008 event took place in Porte de Versailles in Paris, France and cost 70 euros to purchase tickets. The code used to receive Mini Tyrael was put on a gift card with a scratch-to-reveal code and were handed out to all the attendees.
The code would need to be redeemed at the Blizzard promotions page, then received by a single character by talking to either Edward Cairne in Undercity as a Horde player, or Ian Drake in Stormwind for the Alliance. Although given to one character, the summon teaching item, Tyrael's Hilt does not consume on use and can be traded to other characters on the same account. If you did not attend this event, you can find the cards being sold on eBay for $800-1,000 USD at the time of writing.
Mini Tyrael is a unique non-combat vanity pet, modeled after the character Tyrael from the Diablo series produced and developed by Blizzard. This pet will fly alongside you while walking or on a flying mount, can be clicked to trigger random vocalizations and poses several unique animations. When left to idle he will occasionally fall asleep and sometimes enrage when woken up. Lastly Mini Tyrael will respond to the /dance command, joining you in a little jig of his own.
