Miniature Golf in the Golden Isles of Georgia: Brunswick, Jekyll Island, and St. Simons Island

K. Bellamy
The miniature golf courses in the Golden Isles have been around for awhile. Or at least have as much history as their surroundings. While the miniature golf course in Brunswick, Georgia has been gone for several years, tourists and locals still enjoy whiling away a few hours at the ones found on St. Simons and Jekyll Islands.

Jekyll Island Miniature Golf

The ocean views are free while playing this Jekyll Island favorite miniature golf course. Long a staple for fun on Jekyll Island, you'll find two old-time courses, a total of 36 holes with nicely manicured landscapes. The holes are pretty standard with lighthouses and the other typical miniature golf creatures lurking near each hole. But it's a nice way to spend the day or evening if you've tired of lazing on the beach.

This miniature golf facility gets plenty of use in the cooler evening hours and is lighted for evening play, but it never seems to be overly crowded. There aren't a lot of trees near this golf course to provide shade so you might want to play at night when you won't find the sun beating down on your head.

A nice concession area is available and Jekyll Island Miniature Golf does birthday party rentals, too.

St. Simons Island Miniature Golf

St. Simons Island had the most picturesque little miniature golf course - right off the Pier in Nepture Park. I'm sure many a memory was made there for kid and grown-up alike.

Well, time moves on but luckily some things remain the same - or almost. The new St. Simons Miniature Golf course has been moved but just a little way down from the Pier. It's still a part of Nepture Park but can be found on the opposite end of the Casino.

This year marks the grand opening of a new pool, playground, concession stand, and miniature golf facility for St. Simons Island. The new miniature golf course will be opening in May. We're all eagerly awaiting this nice, new and improved attraction in Nepture Park. In the meantime, you can learn more about the amenities of the St. Simons Miniature Golf facility here.

Like they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

The closest miniature golf courses after St. Simons and Jekyll Island can be found on Amelia Island in Fernandina Beach, Florida - an easy drive about 55 miles south of the Golden Isles of Georgia. You can also find some miniature golf courses in Savannah, Georgia. However, there are so many other things to explore and do there, miniature golf is probably not going to be one of your priorities.
