We were stuck at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in Concourse C. It was on the eve of our Thirteenth anniversary. Our Northwest airlines flight to New York had been delayed for five hours. Passengers were walking back and fourth to the information desk, swearing and complaining about their late destinations. The rough November weather in Minnesota had caused several other flight delays throughout the day. But while fellow passengers where grumbling and growling with disappointment, I and my wife Patricia took the opportunity for a little romantic rendezvous. We escaped to the fancy dimly lighted Surf Bar restaurant, just a few yards down the hall from our boarding area. On the little tables, small red lighted candles appeared to sway to the sound of soft instrumental music. We ordered fish and chips, held hands and starred into each other eyes. Our fun had just begun. However, this is our story, but your story could be just as entertaining. Five hours later our Northwest airlines flight had arrived on time. But the real fascination had already begun in a Minneapolis-St.Paul International Airport restaurant, with soft romantic smiles, candle light, and fish & chips. Who says there is nothing wonderful about flight delays?
