This Minnesota wine guide will showcase five lovely wines from this beautiful state. Minnesota does indeed have lush vineyards from where these spectacular wines have been produced.

Sogn Blanc

This Minnesota wine guide would not be complete if it didn't mention this beautiful $12.00 bottle of Sogn Blanc. This is a clear white wine that is made from Edelweiss grapes. The flavor has a delicate sweetness to it and the nose is ripe peach, white grape, pineapple and mango. This exceptional wine has garnered the follwing awards: 2006 Tasters Guild International, 2006 Critics Challenge International, 2007 Tasters Guild International and 2007 Riverside International. This beautiful wine is produced from The Cannon River Winery located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

Rosella

This spectacular pale ruby red wine garners a spot in our Minnesota wine guide for it's fruity and sweet aroma of red ripe berries, ripe pear and sweet apple. The taste is smooth, fruity and semi-dry. Rosella wine is made from St. Pepin, La Crescent and Minnesota Frontenac grapes. At $13.00 per bottle, this semi-dry wine pairs well with pasta dishes and full bodied cheeses. This ruby red wine is also produced by the Cannon River Winery located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota.

2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

Next, his Minnesota wine guide is pleased to include a wine from the Olde Country Winery located in Lake Lillian, Minnesota who boasts the "tallest wine bottle in the world" and the "longest grape vine artwork." This fantastic $14.95 per bottle Cabernet Sauvignon with it's deep rich red color has red and black ripe fruit on the nose with flavors of fruit and spice. This wine is a medium full bodied wine and can be paired nicely with red meat dishes.

2006 Chardonnay Chablis

Another Olde Country Winery wine wins a spot in our Minnesota wine guide for this $14.95 per bottle wine. This beautiful straw colored white wine is fragrant with sweet raspberries. The smooth Merlot fruity taste marries well with the black raspberry flavor. This Chardonnay Chablis pairs well with any full bodied appetizer and it is a great wine to pair with sandwiches.

White Cranberry

The next entry into our Minnesota wine guide is this clear white fruit wine made from sweet crisp white cranberries. The nose is sweet and evokes a grape wine aroma and the taste is medium dry with hints of grape and cranberry. At $13.95 per bottle, this wine is made from fruits and berries that are able to survive the harsh Northern winters. This wine is produced by the Forestedge Winery, which after fermentation, ages their wines in large Italian stainless steel tanks for at least one year before bottling. The Forestedge Winery is located in La Porte, Minnesota.
