MiPhone (My iPhone)

Jon Sugi
I recently bought an iPhone from a friend of mine who won his at a church gathering. I was a little hesitant to purchase it, but there were some things that made the purchase worthwhile.

iSafari. This is the standard web browsing program for the iPhone. People ask me how it works, and I have to say it works very well. The speed is faster than dial up but not as fast as high speed.

However the speed is still very good for a phone. The biggest disappointment would have to be that you cannot view or play Flash elements in a web page. On the other hand Quicktime elements in web pages function without a hitch.

The functionality of iSafari is also very easy to use, once you figure out how things work. My favorite function is the manual zoom. On the touch screen, put two of your fingers together and pull them apart. This enables the zoom in function.

And to zoom out put fingers on opposite parts of the screen and move them closer together. This manual zoom greatly trumps the double tap zoom.

I know the iPod is a very small size, but the iPhone makes the iPod something completely new. The coolest thing is the cover flow or album flow function. If you turn your iPhone sideways the standard iPod music listing changes into album covers. You can scroll through your music like scrolling through a jukebox.
