Miracle You

Arkay Evans
What would you give to find true love

that shines as strong as the new sunrise?

What would you give,

to be blessed to feel passion and heat as

heavy as the summer night?

What would you feed to the mind of a child?

What could you do with more than a few,

for a family that had no car?

Could you bow to forgive your sister, your brother

even as you bear the scar?

What say you to the new President

hailing from a race that has come so far,

Up from the bowels of servitude

to climb the highest mountains

and to reach the highest star?

Could you honor

civil rights

in the thick of civil war?

Would you dare teach a playa

how to bring it business,

driving it forth, in a twisted face

ego ablaze in all the wrong place

believing the promise of bling

in every defiant song they sing?

You are your decision,

and the answer changes things.

It's your choice to bring the magic,

and your victory is mine,

the everyday miracle

touching me,

deep inside my heart of hearts, where I believe that this is true;

I want to be a miracle

to see a miracle

in you
