Miracle Berry Tablets: Can They Really Turn Sour Foods Sweet?

Ashley Webb
What Are Miracle Berry Tablets?

Miracle Berry Tablets are made from the flesh of miracle berries, which are also known as Miracle Fruit. Miracle Berries are small red berries that have a protein called miraculin that binds to your taste buds and makes sour foods taste sweet.

Are Miracle Berries Legal?

Miracle Berries and Miracle Berry Tablets are completely legal in the United States. The protein coats your tongue and alters your taste buds, but does not affect your mind at all. The effects wear off in about half an hour.

Do They Work?

I ordered some Miracle Berry Tablets from ThingGeek and decided to try them out with some friends. We sliced up a lemon and a lime and dissolved the tablets on our tongues. The tablets themselves do not have any strong taste. We then tasted the lemon slices to see if there was any difference. We were amazed to taste almost sugary tasting lemons. They tasted like candy. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was that the sourness was not really gone, it was just masked by the extreme sweetness. The limes were also delicious and tasted like sour lime candies.

Where to Buy Miracle Berries and Tablets

Miracle Berries and Miracle Berry Tablets can be bought many places online. The berries themselves are very expensive but apparently have stronger effects. I recommend starting with the tablets to be sure you have an enjoyable experience before investing too much money.

The Verdict on Miracle Berry Tablets

I highly recommend Miracle Berry Tablets. They are a lot of fun, and would be great to use for a "taste tripping party," which is basically a sour food dinner party. My only concern is that eating too many lemons can be painful. One of my friends had a slightly sore mouth after we tried the tablets from all the citric acid. So I recommend using them as long as you also use moderation.
