Miracle! Mother and Baby Back from the Dead

A young mother, Tracey Hermanstorfer, died during labor leaving behind a still-born baby on Christmas Eve at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Spring. As Tracey's husband, Mike, held her cold hand in his he must have said a few prayers.

The doctor's failed attempts to resuscitate her were quickly replaced with the call to action to save the unborn child. An emergency C-Section was performed - sans any anesthesia - since the mother was presumed deceased anyway.

The baby named Coltyn Mikel Hermanstorfer was delivered still-born and placed in the father's arms. The dad recalled feeling completely lost as he watched his wife and new baby lying breathless and lifeless in his midst.

Then, the miracle happened - actually two miracles! Within minutes of the "birth" the mother's pulse returned. She was whisked into the operating room to complete the C-Section surgery. While mom was in the operating room and the dad still clinging to the lifeless baby - the doctors began working on the tiny baby who took a breath, then another.

The father is quoted as saying, "They actually got him started right in my hands."

Unexplainable. The doctors have deemed it a miracle - both miracles. Dr. Martin of Memorial Hospital stated, "It's rare for a woman to suffer cardiac arrest during pregnancy and far rarer for both mother and baby to survive."

Everyone is at home now, recovering nicely. Don't you just love the happy endings!
