I remember as a little girl, getting so excited over the seeds that I planted in the ground, or in the house. I would excitedly run to see if they had sprouted yet. I never want to forget the joy and anticipation of the miracle of growth. It is also an act of faith, to believe that the seeds will actually grow. I still am excited about watching my seeds sprout out of the earth. It is a miracle to me every year.
Breath held, she waits expectant,
Every morning she excitedly runs,
Has it sprouted?
Sunflower seeds are the best,
Larger than the rest,
Oh has it poked it's little head,
Brown capped green sprout,
Out of it's fragrant bed?
Little girl, sturdy legs,
Bated breath,
Again,
Another spring,
Never forget the wonder of the first seedling.
Now aged and worn,
Harder to kneel to the ground,
Never forgetting the wonder,
The beauty of the first sprout.
Miracles still astound.
This is for you Beanie, and all the other little girls and boys, who may no longer be children on the outside anymore. My grandmother introduced me to the beauty of gardens, flowers, and joy. God bless you all, and never forget the beauty of birth, from the earth and from the bellies of women and animals too.

Amazing!
This is awesome Shana. Thank you.
With Love,
Cindy
Our family grew a large garden from which mom canned much of our food. I was lucky to have had real food during childhood, and the experience instilled within me a deep love for plants. Since teen years, I've carried a collection of plants with me wherever I've lived...I share your fascination for all things green.
Thank you, Shana!! We are both enjoying our Sunday morning, aren't we?
