Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins Win Early Academy of Country Music Awards Saturday Night

The Academy of Country Music Awards show airs live on CBS tonight, but three country music artists got their awards Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV during a radio event.

Miranda Lambert won the "Best Video of the Year" award for her hit single, "White Liar." She was very surprised at the announcement, as she had been asked to appear at a radio event and just assumed it was another photo shoot. Lambert, instead found herself being the recipient of the "Video of the Year Award" for "White Liar."

The award for "Event of the Year" was also announced, with Blake Shelton and Trace Adkins taking the award for their efforts with "Hillbilly Bone." This award marked the first ACM award for Blake Shelton and the third for Trace Adkins.

Lambert was up against stiff competition for the "Best Video of the Year Award." Taylor Swift was nominated for "You Belong With Me," Lady Antebellum for "Need You Now," Brad Paisley's "Welcome to the Future," and Randy Houser for "Boots On."

Lambert remarked that she had a blast making the video, which included her band and crew all participating. However, it was Jamey Johnson, her best friend from the third grade that made the video special in her eyes. Johnson even brought along some moonshine for the event!

Blake Shelton, Lambert's real life boyfriend, was also honored with an early award. His hit song "Hillbilly Bone" was actually inspired by Lambert, who insisted that Blake approach Adkins on the project. It looks like this dynamic duo has their act together and each other's back.

Miranda Lambert is also nominated for other ACM awards. Other nominations include Album of the Year for "Revolution," Top Female Vocalist, Single Record of the Year for "White Liar," and Song of the Year for "White Liar."

Tune in tonight to CBS to see if this country superstar sweeps the Academy of Country Music Awards.

I ok with the two guys, but not a fan of Miranda. The girl that does my hair saw Lambert in Chattanooga a few weeks ago and she was still signing her praises. I guess I'm too old to get it!

Not much for country music, but maybe that moonshine would make me like it better?
