Mirror Decorating

Personalize an Unframed Mirror

Sjda
Materials:

1. A plain mirror (no plastic casing or frame)

2. Grout/clay/plaster of paris

3. Objects to decorate the mirror with - (eg. buttons, coins, pieces of pottery, beads, etc)

4. Tea lights (optional; if you'd like your mirror to be placed on a flat surface as opposed to hung up)

Method:

1. Wipe the mirror clean

2. Apply the wet grout/clay/plaster onto the mirror using any object/tool that will give you the kind of texture that you want. For example, a fork can be used to scrape symmetrical lines in the form of a design.

3. Tea lights, if used, should be stuck into the wet grout/clay/plaster so that it will dry around them and secure them in their place.

4. Stick the decorative objects into the grout/clay/plaster according to your chosen design. [Example shows fragments of a broken porcelain vase; the fragments were obtained by wrapping the broken vase in cloth and smashing the large pieces into smaller ones with a hammer].

5. Leave to dry (at least 24 hrs)
