Misconstructions About Africa

Tuna Asino, M.A.
When most people outside Africa think about Africa, they think about the following: heat, starvation, wars and animals. There is more to Africa than the misconstructions. Some parts of Africa are humid as in Europe, Asia and in North and South America. Not all Africans are starving, despite the images people see on television and in newspapers. There are actually wealthy Africans in Africa. There is more in Africa than meet the eye. Not all countries are facing wars and we do not live with animals.

Some people offered their views and viewed the heat as an advantage. "It's a good thing that's why Europeans flock over here when it's winter that side," Philomena 'Mona' Mabuku said, regarding the beliefs that Africa is hot.

Mabuku admits that Africa is hot. "Hot in summer like God meant summer to be yes. Some areas are humid some not," she said.

I really love this article..It qualifies to be the article of the year 2010.. It is very true Africa's image is rather tarnished.. they are a lot of very good places in almost all the African countries.. but we always get the negative side only, yet we have a lot of people from developed countries who keep coming here..some of them don't even want to go back once they get to A..F..R..I..C..A others will find reasons to keep coming back..

There is indeed more to africa than starving children, underdevelopment etc. Apart from it being a village, as it is construed by those who have not been here, it is the best nature has to offer.
