Miss California Carrie Prejean Dethroned

Carrie Prejean's Naked Pictures Had Nothing to Do with it

Miss California Carrie Prejean seems to have tested the limits of "Mr. Second Chance" himself, Donald Trump, because, according to Miss California USA Executive Director Keith Lewis, she was in violation of her contract. After the controversy over her statement at the Miss USA Pageant, her subsequent pro-traditional marriage media tour, and the scandal over naked pictures hit the internet, Donald Trump, as owner of the Miss USA Pageant, stepped in with the decision to give Prejean a second chance.

According to CNN, Carrie Prejean has been fired, dethroned, de-crowned, and stripped of her title.

"This was a decision based solely on contract violations, including Ms. Prejean's unwillingness to make appearances on behalf of the Miss California USA organization," Lewis announced Wednesday.

Donald Trump backed the decision. "I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California USA organization, and I gave her the opportunity to do so. Unfortunately, it just doesn't look like it is going to happen, and I offered Keith my full support in making this decision."

Last month, Trump had announced that Carrie Prejean and the Miss California USA organization had reached an agreement and she would return and resume her duties as Miss California USA. Of the naked pictures and outright lies Prejean had told to keep her crown, Donald Trump ignored the lies, the apparent breaches of contract with the Miss California organization, and simply said the nude pictures were beautiful or of a modeling nature.

But Carrie Prejean apparently does not understand gratitude...

"After our press conference in New York, we had hoped we would be able to forge a better working relationship," Lewis announced Wednesday. "However, since that time, it has become abundantly clear that Carrie is unwilling to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together."

Carrie Prejean will be replaced by Tami Farrell as the new Miss California USA.

Prejean became the center of attention when she lost the Miss USA Pageant to Miss North Carolina in April. Her answer of supporting "opposite" marriage over same-sex marriage in "my country" was considered by many to be the reason she lost. Celebrity judge Perez Hilton afterward called her a "dumb bitch" and a war of words ensued, with Carrie Prejean making a circuit of various talk shows, proclaiming that she was "biblically correct" and that god had told her to not be tempted to give the answer everyone wanted to hear. In the meantime, Prejean missed several functions as Miss California USA. And then the naked pictures appeared on TheDirty.com and TMZ. It all came to a climax when Donald Trump made the decision to allow Prejean to keep her crown as long as she carried out her duties as Miss California USA.

She did not. She was fired.

Perez Hilton was ecstatic: "Better late than never!"

So where to now for the former Miss California USA? Probably Fox News or the Christian Broadcasting Network, although the latter would seem a stretch for someone who so boldly and flagrantly lied about the naked pictures, how many there were, when they were taken, etc. Of course, she could be forgiven for that sin...

But it would only add credibility to her resume if she applied for a position at Fox News...

Too bad she blew off her obligations after being given a second chance. Sounds like she doesn't deserve the title anyway.

Well, I think she's got guts, if you ask me. A long time ago, I stopped giving a sh!t about who makes fun of me or calls me names. And for Perez Hilton to rejoice in her firing shows her and her kind for what they really are! I hope nothing but the best for Ms. Prejean; EVEN IF I DON'T AGREE with all of her personal viewpoints, I respect her for standing by them instead of flaking like the Perez Hiltons of the world would have wanted her to!

Donald gave her extra chances and advice but she failed to show up for her required duties. Is that correct? If so, I can understand this decision. Winning the crown is just one step in the process. Being part of a PR campaign is another.

    Wow, Donald's getting tough!
