Miss California Carrie Prejean Lost the Miss USA Pageant Because Perez Hilton is Gay?
It Couldn't Be Because Her Interview Answer was One of the Most Poorly Stated in Miss USA Pageant History
Perez Hilton, who is openly homosexual, asked: "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?"
And although Carrie Prejean may not go down in history as having the worst pageant answer in history (that dishonor may go to 2007's Miss South Carolina Teen USA), her answer might have been worded a bit more eloquently. She answered: "I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. We live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and my family I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anyone out there but that's how I was raised and that's how I think it should be between a man and a woman."
In the end, the question everyone was asking what exactly an "opposite marriage" was and just what country Miss California was actually from.
There is little doubt that Perez Hilton did not give her many points (or any points) for her answer. If there is any doubt, Perez Hilton's blog later revealed his true feelings for Carrie Prejean on a video blog when he called her a "dumb bitch." (He later apologized on his blog saying he was angry at the time.)
Miss California Carrie Prejean was the first runner-up in the 2009 Miss USA Pageant.
The blogs and radio commentators were avidly debating all day whether or not Carrie Prejean's stumbling answer may have cost her the win (and will probably continue to do so like a couple of opposing political hacks debating the hanging chad issue in the 2000 presidential election).
And there are those who are saying that if there had been another judge instead of Perez Hilton (presumably not gay), she might have received more points from them and won.
Maybe. Maybe not.
One thing is certain. In "my country" there is no such thing as "opposite marriage." Miss California Carrie Prejean is lucky she came in as first runner-up. But, then, Miss South Carolina Teen USA came in as third runner-up in the 2007 Miss Teen USA Pageant.
The interview portion of the pageants, which are judged along with swimsuit and gown competitions, must be weighted at a very low percent of the total score.

profane and inappropriate personal attacks on Carrie. As a MAN, Trumps Number One Job is to protect the women in his charge and his auspices and his social circle, and that most definitely and particularly includes the women in his Miss USA Pageant. As a MAN, he is responsible for protecting them from all personal attacks, physical and otherwise. Inasmuch as there is NO EXCUSE for hilton's ugly, profane, personal attacks on Carrie in the public domain, it was incumbent upon Trump to condemn hilton and his attacks on Carrie. Instead, Trump stated that hilton was welcome back in the future. Furthermore, Trump should have stated that neither hilton nor anyone else who would commit such an ugly personal attack on any of the Miss USA women would be eligible to hold any office or position in the Miss USA organization – including that of judge. And, the MANLY, protective mindset with which Trump should regard all the Miss USA women should be totally and completely disrespective of any
Since that is both an absurd and impossible prospect, the pageant rules should proscribe such political questions.
On the other hand, sauly, you'd probably love for the contestants to have to genuflect before the judges' leftist, God-hating, America-blaming political biases, wouldn't you? You're into every kind of "diversity" in the world except diversity of political opinion, right, sauly? Everyone has to agree with YOUR political opinion, right, sauly? Even in arenas wherein politics has no place, right, sauly? Everyone has to be "tolerant" of every value system in the world EXCEPT for the traditional, all-American, Judeo-Christian value system, right, sauly?
Give it up, GOP Thinker. sauly-poo and all the other leftists are not about to admit to -- let alone surrender -- the double standard by which they deal with us.
One last comment. Donald Trump absolutely FAILED Carrie Prejean and every other contestant when he failed to condemn hilton for his vitriolic, profane and inap
hilton's question would have been FAIR -- you know what "FAIR" means, don't you, sauly? Your type is always talking about being "FAIR," “FAIR†this, “FAIR†that, “FAIR†the other, “FAIRFAIRFAIR†-- that question would have been FAIR if and only if EVERY CONTESTANT had been asked the exact same question with the same time to respond. And still, even then, it would have been FAIR if and only if many of the other questions would have been politically charged AND asked of ALL the contestants in order to even out the various probabilities of the several judges liking or disliking the contestants based on their politically charged answers to all the politically charged questions.
Do ya get where we're going here, sauly??? It's this: POLITICALLY CHARGED QUESTIONS HAVE NO PLACE IN SUCH A PAGEANT. PERIOD. The Miss USA pageants are NOT about the judges' politics lest every contestant be required to conform (or pretend to conform) to the judges' political views. Since that
Let's get it all out in the open. It wouldn't matter if Carrie's answer to hilton's question had been worthy of Shakespeare . . . hilton STILL would have condemned her and hated her and given her low marks because she DARED to disapprove of "homosexual marriage." (Talk about an oxymoron . . . .) Ditto to you, sauly-poo. You don't really give a flying cow pie, sauly, how articulate or inarticulate Carrie's answer was. You're just using her poor wording as intellectually dishonest cover for your act of condemning her for her personal values with which YOU happen to disagree. Let's face it, hilton ambushed Carrie with an inappropriately politically charged question precisely because he already knew that her basic value system would most likely lead her to give an answer he didn't like, and he was just itching to get his vitriolic condemnation of her values out for the public to see.
How many other contestants were given politically charged questions? hilton's question would have b
And you continue to evade a simple question...
And you continue to validate everything I've said...
That's right, Sauly Poo. Let's talk about Bush when you can't justify your cherry picking when it comes to "inarticulate" statements. And...you...can't. Figures. I find it hilarious how you hold your Miss USA contestants to a _higher_ standard than the President of the United States. No wonder why people feel the country's on the wrong track. "With each word you prove the vapidness of your position...[blah blah blah]" Sauly, the fact that you feel the need to IMMEDIATELY reply to me shows that you know deep down that your arguments have been built on shaky ground. Anyway, let me try again. How come you'll criticize a beauty pageant contestant for making "inarticulate" statements, but you refuse to do so when presidential candidates make even dumber statements? I mean, 57 states?!?!?! Isn't the presidency important to you, Sauly?
That's right, misdirect. Let's talk about Obama when you can't defend the topic of the conversation. And... you... can't... Figures. Obama's mistakes are not germane, but they're still not as numerous your great God Bush. And that's not to mention your deflection from the fact that you still haven't addressed the topics of either the article or the comment, then resort to cliche-ridden claptrap about striking nerves while playing the victim with an outcry of a "personal attack." Then there's the holier-than-thou routine and taking it out of context for your own personal attack. Bravo. Please continue. With each word you prove the vapidness of your position. Oh, wait, you did that when you decided to back Carrie Prejean, didn't you? Repetition, attack, cliche -- the reactionary redundancy of the modern GOP Thinker. Rhodan would be nauseus of your assumptive title. So would Barry Goldwater. Get off your Shetland, you're slowing it down... let it lead...
"I don't expect sarcasm to be a strong suit for anyone who'd tie up the oxymoronic words, GOP Thinker, as a pseudonym."
Ooooo...I must have struck a nerve to provoke a personal attack.
"I criticize her for being inarticulate."
Obama said that the US has "57 states". He said mispronounced the word "corpsman". He said that the US is the world's largets Muslim country. But did Mr. Saul Relative ever criticize the leader of the free world for being "inarticulate". Nah, I doubt it. He thinks his time is better spent on a beauty pageant contestant.
"now does it, all wise GOP Thinker...?"
To use the words of a not-so-wise person, "Get off your holier-than-thou horse," Mr. Relative.
