Miss Teen Louisiana USA Loses Title Over Ditched Restaurant Bill

Lindsey Evans had only two weeks left in her reign as Miss Louisiana Teen USA, but not any more. Saturday the 18 year-old and three friends attempted the old "dine and dash" on their $46.07 bill at the Posados Café in Bossier City, La.

Evans made a crucial mistake, however, when she left her purse behind in the restaurant. Leaving your ID at the scene of your crime is dumb, but it wasn't the worst mistake she made. Police were called and they looked through the purse for ID, and found Linsey Evans' identification, but that wasn't all. The other contents of Miss Evans' purse landed the teenage scofflaws in much more trouble than the theft charge they were already facing. Miss Evans had her pot stash in the purse. Police didn't recognize her as Miss Louisiana Teen, but they would have surely caught up with her anyway. As it turned out they didn't have to.

Miss Louisiana and her friends - Jordan James, 18, Jennifer Martin, 22, and Morgan Goleman, 18 - arrived back at the restaurant intending to get the purse just as police were about to leave. The officers had little trouble identifying them as the dashing diners, having seen Lindsey Evans' driver's license. The group was arrested and now all four are charged with theft and possession of marijuana. Martin and James were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as well.

"Lindsey Evans has been part of an organization that believes in opportunities when earned and consequences when warranted," said Paula Miles, president of Miss Teen USA pageant sponsor RPM. "Due to recent circumstances, Lindsey has been relieved of her duties as Miss Louisiana Teen USA 2008 effective immediately." She went on to say that Evans will have to return her Miss Louisana Teen crown and sash, but not the other gifts she recieved when she won the pagent.

Evans, of Blanchard, La., also is a student at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. When asked why they did it, one of the teens cited slow service to excuse their actions.

How sad. Another beauty queen's career brought up short by bad judgment and inappropriate behavior. :)
