Birmingham man Norris Lee, who had been missing since Sept. 3, was found dead in a wooded area on Friday. Police say that though there is no sign of foul play, they are going to process the crime scene anyway. Lee was 86 years old and recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He was also a regular at the Community House in downtown Birmingham, where he was last seen.
There had been several search parties on the lookout for Lee, and the family has had much support from several organizations and area residents during their time of need. Though the family has received bad news, they are simply happy to know something. They stated in an earlier interview that the not knowing where he was or what had happened to him was far worse. There is no word of what caused his death as of yet.
