According to an article from the Associated Press the search for Jessie Davis has ended in tragedy. Investigators found a body that they believe to be Jessie Davis around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Davis' boyfriend, Bobby Cutts Jr., was arrested and charged with two counts of murder shortly after the discovery.

Cutts is a police officer, and the father of Davis' two year old son. Cutts is also believed to be the father of the baby Jesse Davis was due to give birth to on July 3rd, 2007. Cutts was married to another woman, whom he has been separated from for some time. Cutt's claims his wife knew about his relationship with Davis.

Jesse Davis' disappearance made national headlines when her mother discovered that Davis was missing from her home; Davis' mother also discovered Davis' two year old son in the residence alone.

The condition of Davis' home immediately inspired fears that tragedy had occurred. Her bedroom was in shambles, with furniture knocked over and bleach poured on the floor.

Statements from Davis' two year old son deepened her family and investigator's fears that foul play had occurred. According to the Associated Press, Davis' son reportedly told investigators: "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in rug."

A search for Davis was conducted with thousands of people volunteering to look for her; police questioned Cutts during that time but previously maintained that he was not a suspect. Cutts position as a police officer has brought embrrassment to the department. According to the Associated Press, Dean McKimm who is Chief of the Canton Police stated: "There is no denying that this has resulted in giving a black eye in the opinion of the local community as well as the opinion of the rest of the nation." in regards to Cutts alleged involvement in the crime.

The case is reportedly still being investigated though police have not indicated that there are any other suspects in the murders.

According to the Associated Press, Chief Deputy Rick Perez, stated: "Our hearts go out to the family of Jessie Marie Davis.", during a press conference confirming the discovery of Davis' body.

Davis' family who was previously outspoken during the search for her have no comment for reporters. According to the Associated Press, Rick Pitini, the family's lawyer issued a statement claiming: "I've seen them laugh, cry, be angry - everything you can imagine. They need to be together, and they need to be alone, and they need to grieve."

Unbelievably tragic. It brings back all the memories of Stacy Peterson in San Francisco. Keep us posted with updates on the trial and outcome. Thanks for reporting the story.

This is so sad, well written though.

I wondered that too if police had questioned the wife. this story was horrible, I hated writing it. I too had been hoping she would be find alive somehow, though I was afraid from the beginning that it wouldn't be so. it's just so senseless to me. it's not any better to murder a regular person, but when its a pregnant one--god. and that baby girl was so close to being born. I'm normally against the death penalty too, but I hope he gets it.

This news story really got me. I hoped every day that they would find her alive and well. So sad. Thanks for reporting.

Great reporting, but what a terrible outcome to this story. In a perfect world they would stick this guy on the rack as they used to do in medieval times and end it all there. I'm normally not for the death penalty, but life in prison is too good for a man of this caliber.
