Missing You Still Mother.

Janet Hunt
Gone a full six years now

I still remember those qualities

That endeared you to us all

And engrafted your memory forever upon our hearts

Your loving, selfless devotion was the kind

That makes you choke up inside

Words will not do you justice

Try as I might

A gentle smile, warm infectious laughter

And a heart much bigger than Texas!

You were our lighthouse in times of storms

Kept the family on the golden path

A true matriarch, who knew no glory of her own

But was satisfied to bask in the glow of others

Others who she helped shine like the stars...

Your memory is forever in my heart.

I love you mom!

What a beautiful poem and loving tribute... I'm even more grateful now for every day that I still have my mother.

A very beautiful tribute. Lost my Mom in 2002...so this really moves me.

My Mom went home to the Lord many years ago and I still miss her so very much. This tribute to your mother is very touching. I could feel your love for her. Thank you for sharing. I have written a tribute to the special day of Mother's Day titled That "Very Special Day for Mom"; also a tribute to my Mom titled "A Tribute to My Mother - a Letter from Home". These works are very special to me I admire your writings and hope you will read these two tributes of mine. God bless you.

Why do you feel like crying? Selfless devotion to me means the same as what you have here. Selfless means to put all before herself does it not? Anyway the way I read it--it did. I had to reread it several times just to find what was making you feel bad.

Of course I meant "unselfish devotion." I feel like crying. I can't delete or edit this...

I think you did a great job, and I think your mom would be proud of all your writing but especially of this one.

Beautiful. I'm sure your mother is smiling as she reads your beautiful poetry.

Nobody can fail to be moved by this. Love the shine like stars line. 6 years is still recent history, so you will still be grieving. My Dad died over 8 years ago and it feels like yesterday. All we can do is live our lives in a way which would make our loved ones proud.
