Mississippi Gulf Coast - Gulfport- Restaurant Favorites
Reddick's Café in Gulfport is an Outstanding New Choice
Gulfport, MS 39507
United States of America
In the land where Katrina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast and Gulfport nearly three years ago, the restaurant business offers some very good choices not found in the casinos. There have always been a select few restaurants that are very good in my opinion in Gulfport, Mississippi.
My all time old favorite is Vrazel's on the beach in Gulfport adjacent to the current Island View Casino. Emeril's Gulf Coast Fish House is in the Island View Casino. Prior to Hurricane Katrina in August 2005, the property was occupied by the Grand Casino Gulfport.
Vrazel's is back as good as ever and the food is always consistent and anyone looking for good food should check out this fine restaurant and it's owner Chef Bill Vrazel.
Just a short distance to the east of Vrazel's is the new Salute Italian restaurant in Gulfport and its owner Rob Stinson. This restaurant has opened on the beach in Gulfport since Katrina and the food is always good. There is also a very nice bar within the restaurant.
My newest favorite restaurant is tucked away on Courthouse Road in Gulfport, Mississippi a little north of the beach by about 2 miles in Courthouse Quarters. The restaurant is adjacent to my office Dapremont Eye Specialists.
Herb Reddick has opened Reddick's Café and everything my wife and I have tried is excellent. The café is open in Gulfport Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 2 pm and there are specials everyday including delicious gumbos, French onion soup, corn and crawfish chowder and fantastic cheesecakes, brownies, bread pudding and homemade breads created by the "bread man" Nick Marine. There are probably 15 to twenty salad choices every day as well as delicious coffees and specialty coffees. Here are a couple of du jour menus.
