Mississippi State Parks: Percy Quin State Park

Percy Quin State Park is located 6 miles south of McComb, Mississippi and is known for its championship golf course, rolling hills, beautiful magnolia trees, and 700 acre lake for fishing or boating. As you drive to the different areas of the park the beautiful woods and hills just call for you to roll down your windows and take in the fresh air from all of the pines. The park has a total of 1700 acres which provides plenty of space for all of the different things it has to offer.

There is a boat launch, fishing pier, and fish cleaning station available for all you avid fishermen and women. Fishing isn't the only thing that happens in the lake though. Plenty of outdoor enthusiasts visit Percy Quin to enjoy the lake with water skiing, jet skiing, or to just enjoy just drifting in the breeze. There are also designated swimming areas available to make it safer for everyone.

There are a total of 28 cabins available for rent. Some of the cabins have water access while some do not. The cabins are located close enough if you have a large family or friend get together and want to be close but have separate areas. Some of the features of the cabins are screened porches, a fireplace, grill, picnic table, dishware, silverware, cooking utensils, coffee maker, cable/satellite access, and towels and linens. This makes things easier because you do not have to pack a lot to get away. Two golf villas are also available and can sleep a maximum of 12 people.

On the far side of the lake you will find two group camps that are perfect for church retreats, family reunions, or any other event. These camps can hold up to 100 people and also have a meeting room and playing fields. If you are looking for just meeting rooms, Percy Quin has three, day use meeting rooms available as well.

For campers, there are 49 primitive sights available and over 100 campsites for recreational vehicles. Percy Quin also has a swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, picnic pavilions, convenience store, laundry, firewood sales, and dump station available. Within 10 miles there are many other things available such as churches, emergency services, restaurants, shopping, antiquing, and seasonal festivities.
