Missouri Tea Party Members "BUYcott" Cardinals Game

Almost 10 different groups converging on a baseball game in St. Louis in June may not seem like a news worthy article. They were all dressed in red, cheered when Albert Pujols came up to bat and enjoyed the game with their families. Seems like a typical St. Louis summer event.

What makes this different is that these groups were waving Arizona state flags at Busch Stadium in Missouri which is over 1000 miles from the Grand Canyon State.

The St. Louis Cardinals were hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks, and word had gotten out that some political supporters were going to boycott the game due to Arizona's controversial immigration law. Each opposing team receives some of the profits at the gates, so by boycotting the game groups in opposition of the law hoped to send a message to the state of Arizona.

Almost 10 different Tea Party groups decided to turn the tables and show support for the state of Arizona and the immigration law by turning out for the game. They proudly waved Arizona state flags and handed out many copies of the Constitution of the United States of America. Members indicated that they were proud to support both the home town team and the state that has been under so much scrutiny.

There were no altercations as a result of this event, and everyone said that they had a wonderful evening watching the Cardinals take home an 8 to 0 victory.
