Mitchell Moore, Marie Moore Shooting Caught on Tape
A Mother Fatally Shoots Her 20 Year Old Son at a Shooting Range, Then Kills Herself
Marie Moore Shot her twenty year old son Mitchell Moore, then quickly turned the gun on herself. This tragedy occurred "shooting straight" a gun range in central Florida. These horrific images of the Marie Moore shooting were caught on tape by the gun range's security camera. The Video depicted Marie Moore pointing a revolver to the back of Mitchell Moore's head and pulling the trigger; Then placing the revolver in her mouth and pulling the trigger. Prior to Marie Moore shooting her son, the video showed her and her son getting along fine, until she turned the revolver on Mitchell Moore. According to family members Marie Moore has a history of family illness.
This incident goes to show how mental illness is ignored in our country. Did you know that about 40% of homeless males are veterans (I wonder how many are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder-PTSD)? How about 39% report some form of mental health problems (20-25% meet criteria for serious mental illness). I hope the Marie Moore shooting serves as an eye opener for the United States current crisis. These statistics have been steady for years now and I hope as a country we can come together to help the crisis that is affecting our lives each and every day.
