Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X to Thread Indian Roads in 2010

Hindustan Motors is finally bringing in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X to India by 2010. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo-X was first displayed in the Auto Expo that was held in Delhi in 2008 and it had garnered huge interests from the public.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo-X is a four-door and five seater sedan and is considered to be the fastest and most extreme version of Mitsubishi's motorsport derived machine.

Hindustan Motors will bring in the Evolution-X as a completely built unit (CBU) with their partners, Mitsubishi Motors. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo-X is adorned with a lightweight aluminum 2.0-litre turbocharged 1998 cc, 16 valve, MIVEC, DOHC petrol engine with super kit 'Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC)' which generates 290 bhp at 6500 and 407Nm torque at 3500 rpm. The car can deliver 12 km per liter in city and 15 km per liter on the highway.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution-X is decked up with safety features such as ABS with EBD, and an array of airbag that includes curtain SRS airbag for driver, dual front and passengers.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution gets a 5-speed manual transmission and will cost around Rs.30 lakhs to compete with Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3-Series Sedans. Currently Mitsubishi Motors sell their Mitsubishi Cedia, Mitsubishi Lancer sedans and Montero, Outlander and Pajero SUV's in India.
