Mixology School - the Bartender's Recipe Guide

Benjamin Ehinger
Mixology is basically the art of mixing a good drink behind a bar. There are many different definitions to what a good drink is. Some of us like it strong enough to put hair on our chest, and others like it fruity and tasty. It just depends on what your taste is. Every bartender should go through Mixology School, and I am going to tell you why.

Reason #1 - As a bartender you will make more money if you have gone to Mixology School

When a bartender knows his or her drink recipes and can make a drink just the way it is suppose to be made, they will earn better tips. It is a common skill that I would expect with any bartender that makes me a drink. I want the bartender to already know how to make the drink. I don't want to have to tell them how it is done.

Reason #2 - Mixology School will also teach a bartender how to create new drinks

There is no better way to increase your tips and clientele than to create an original drink that is both tasty and potent. This is what most bar patrons want and when you make them happy they will come back and tip you better. Creating your own drink gives you a signature too, and when you lose a job or move from one to another people will follow you for that drink.

Reason #3 - A smart bartender is a marketable bartender

There is no better way to land a bartending job than to have knowledge of many drinks and to be able to create your own original drinks. Managers and owners are always looking for new ways to bring in business and one great way is to run unique drink specials. If you can help them create drinks that are original to their establishment you will be able to land a job with them and make more money.

There are three solid reasons to attend Mixology School. Mixology School is most commonly referred to as Bartending School or Bartender Training. You can always do this training online at your own pace and get just the same results. The important thing is to learn your drinks and know how to create new ones.
