MLB App for Android

Must Have for Any Baseball Fan with an Android Phone

Y! Jason
Mlb.com released the beta version of the popular iphone app dubbed At Bat. Currently it is only available at http://m.mlb.com from your Android phone. The link to download is at the top screen.

The application will begin at the current date, showing the schedule and score. Since it is only for the World Series, you will only see one game listed. But you can easily how this will work the regular season. Click the game listing to see 5 tabs. Game Summary, Box Score, Live field view, Plays summary and Video Clips. Plus the audio feed during the game.

The Field tab is similar to MLB.com's gameday view, showing the field dimensions, current fielders by position, runners on base, current batter, on deck batter and who is in the hole.

Video Clips from the game are labeled with caption and duration of clip. Video quality is the best I have seen on the Android. Large buttons allow you to quickly pause/play, fast forward and rewind the video clip.

Audio for game 3 and 4 was choppy and it stopped frequently. I connected to T-Mobile 3G network and the internet via my wifi connection. I was able to switch between the Phillie's and Yankee's home announcers.

This is the best baseball app on the android and I look forward to using this app next season.
